We Rise, We Heal, We Overcome!
Okay Dolls, here’s the truth. I am scared. We are ALL scared! In fact, in my time as a business owner, I don’t think I’ve ever experienced fear quite like this. But I will not let fear cripple me and I will not let it stop me from serving my clients as they chase their dreams. Today I am focused and ready to face these challenges head on. My goal today is to inspire you to do the same. Chase your dream, even when it’s scary! Use this time to create a game plan for how you can move forward. I am here to cheer you on EVERY step of the way!
The Power of Positivity
I am someone who firmly believes in the power of positivity. For me, a positive mindset is what leads me to creating my best work. If you believe you can, then you will. If you know you will succeed, then it will happen. You just need to stay true and stay focused when the negative tries to weigh you down. I know this is hard and sometimes it’s easier said than done. To remain positive in times of trouble is no easy feat and can feel like a job, but you MUST! Don’t succumb to the fears of “now” and instead plan for the accomplishments of the future.
Connect!
Dolls, I found out something absolutely amazing this week! Did you know you can FaceTime with a group as large as 32 people?! We have so many tools available to us that we need to be using now! As the Head Doll + CEO of POSH PR®, it is important to me to remain a strong leader. This means that each day #theprdolls and I are connecting with each other via FaceTime to maintain our sense of community and partnership with each other. Just because we cannot sit together in #TheDollHQ does not mean we can’t be collaboratively working together to accomplish our goals. The same can be said for a lot companies; however, many people have never experienced a work-from-home structure. It is important to teach your team how to do this! Use digital tools and virtual meetings to stay connected as a team. Give clear and concise expectations for what each employee should be doing and what they should accomplish each day. Create open lines of communication so that everyone stays on the same page despite the distance.
But community means more than connecting with just your team. You can create and foster a sense of community from afar through the power of social media! Use live video, Instagram stories, and visual content to bring your community together. Social distancing may be keeping up physically apart, but I know you Dolls are creative and can use your social media presence to bring your people together!
Keep Your Eyes on the Prize
YOU HAVE TO KEEP YOUR ROUTINE! This part may sound difficult, but as someone who has worked from home for many years I feel like I have learned a thing or two along the way. Get up each morning and get out of your pajamas! If you’re someone who would have worked out in the morning, you should still be doing that. If you write a to-do list each morning when you get into the office, you should be doing that at home too. My tips? Get up, make your bed, and get going! Most importantly, you need to create a dedicated work space for yourself in your home. Clear off your vanity and use it as a makeshift desk for the time being or maybe there’s a quiet corner of your home that you can turn into your office. Whenever you come to this space, you need to sit down knowing that you are there to be in “work mode”. Limit distractions in this area by distancing yourself from the TV or things that will take you away from your work. Maintaining routine through this unprecedented time is vital. I know you can do it!
Self-quarantining does not mean time off. Wait…let me repeat that…SELF-QUARANTINING DOES NOT MEAN TIME OFF! Use your time wisely. Update your website’s copy. Dream up a 1-year, 5-year, and 10-year plan. Create visual content at home. No matter what you do, don’t just sit still. Although it doesn’t feel like it, treat this time as a gift. Use it to strategize and to grow instead of using it to binge-watch that new Netflix show. Don’t get me wrong…I want you to schedule breaks and take care of your families, but I also want you to use your time at home to the fullest!
What Do I Do Next?
I know what you’re thinking. “What can I be doing for my business?!” To be honest with you, I’ve been thinking about this, too! I’ve come up with a few ways on how to continue to grow your brand, even during the trying times we are experiencing. I know many of you have brick and mortar stores that are not able to maintain your typical store hours due to the coronavirus, but this doesn’t need to mean you aren’t making the sale! Most brands already have online sales which is great, but it shouldn’t stop there. I want you to get creative!

I want to help you and I want to be supportive as you continue to grow your brand. I am providing this digital download to you for free because I want you to maintain your forward-thinking during this time. Use it, love it, believe in it! My goal is for you to fill this out daily to help you stay mindful and on track as we navigate this time together. I am also including a “Change the Date” graphic that you can edit to fit your needs! In an effort to stay connected, I will be going live on the POSH PR® Instagram on Tuesday, March 24th (EEK! My birthday eve!) to answer questions and be available as a resource. I am calling it my Champagne Virtual Doll Date! It would be the best birthday present ever to have you join me! *HINT HINT* I may even be sharing a special discount code during it, sweet Dolls!
