Top Knot-ch
Dolls, it’s time to get knotty…with our hair, that is! I am all about a good top knot, especially when I’m at home working during this quarantine. Today I wanted to share with you how I create my signature hairstyle. Whether your hair is freshly washed or, well, maybe it’s been a few days…EITHER WAY, this is the perfect style to keep it fun, flirty, and fabulous!
All you will need to create this look is 2 hairbands, a few bobby pins, some hairspray, and a brush! Once you have collected all of these items, it’s time to get started!
Step 1
Let’s get started! I section my hair off into two sections because I like to keep some of my hair down when I do this style. I do this by parting my hair around the top of my head near the crown.
Caroline Tip: Don’t grab too much hair for the top knot! A little will go a long way for this look.
Step 2
Use the hairband to tie off a ponytail with the hair you gathered.
Step 3
Turn up the volume! Use your hairbrush to tease the hair in the ponytail. This will give your top knot an added punch of volume!
Step 4
Keep teasing!! No…really, Doll! I think this is the secret that takes this style from ordinary to extraordinary! Give it some extra height by backcombing with your hairbrush. I know what it looks like at this point, BUT I promise you it’ll look great! Stick with me!
Step 5
Now it’s time to perfect the look! Take the hair you just teased and wrap it around to form a bun. Secure it with a hairband and some bobby pins to ensure it won’t budge. This is the perfect time to add your own personal style and flair to this look. From scrunchies and glittery bobby pins to scarves and colored hairbands, the possibilities here are endless! Have fun with it, Doll!
Step 6
Spray your look with hairspray to lock it in!
Caroline Tip: Add a little extra hairspray at the roots for some added volume!
Step 7
Show it off! This hairstyle is perfect for the Doll on the go. I always feel put together and pretty with this easy look.
Now it’s your turn to try it out! Use your time at home to perfect this adorable style. I’d love to see how your top knots turn out, Doll!
