’Tis the Season to Put Up Decor

With only a few short days left until Christmas, I can’t help but admire all of the holiday decor around town.  From the ice rink at Stony Point Fashion Park to the James Center’s Great Tree and Reindeer and all the twinkling lights in between, it’s been so fun to drive around Richmond soaking in the holiday magic.  This is a very special Christmas for Costa and I because it is the FIRST one we’re spending together in #TheDollDreamHouse!  Although we have had a lot going on as we’ve been finalizing our house project, I couldn’t help myself and HAD TO go all out this year with our decor.

The Tree of my dreams

Now Dolls, I know I’ve mentioned it before, but our foyer was specially designed to fit this 15-foot Christmas Tree! I had a vision for this tree and I knew our home would not be complete without the perfect spot to showcase this statuesque salute to the holidays. It’s bright white branches stand out and I love the way it looks as I pull into the driveway and see it twinkling in the windows. It reminds me of a fresh snowfall and that makes me SO excited for our first big snow in #TheDollDreamHouse! Eek! I wonder when that big snowy day will be here?!

A tree fit for Barbie

This next tree is a favorite of #theprdolls and stands tall in #TheDollHQ. What was that you said? You can’t decorate a Christmas Tree with Barbie Dolls?! Hmm…well I must have missed that memo from Santa! I had so much fun searching for special Barbie Dolls to add to the tree! My absolute favorite is the 60th Anniversary Barbie. She really turned up the sparkle for her Diamond Anniversary and is rocking that high ponytail and shimmery gown! Who can resist a tree with style?! There’s also a Barbie on the tree designed to mimic the architecture of the Sydney Opera House. Want a little Doll secret? I absolutely LOVE opera music — from Bizet to Pavarotti and everything in between! I can’t get enough!

a tree just for costa

Okay so this last tree is maybe not what you would consider typical Caroline Doll content; HOWEVER, I think it would be wrong not to share my sweet hubby’s favorite tree! Costa wanted the 15-foot tree in our foyer to honor his favorite soccer team, A.C. Milan, but Dolls, I think we ALL know that the big tree had to be pink! But don’t feel too bad for him because when he was away on business, I decided to have a special surprise waiting for him when he got home! This is the tree is our bedroom and it now has red and black ornaments to honor his beloved team. I even got a little crafty and wrote the team name and logos on a few of the ornaments! The surprise was a big success and I’m so glad that all the things we love are represented in our holiday decor this year.

As we inch closer to Christmas, I know I will continue to admire all of the sparkling decor around town, in #TheDollDreamHouse, and in #TheDollHQ.  I hope you and your loved ones enjoy the beautiful views that the holidays bring and spend some time together celebrating this special time of year!
