My Favorite Party Trick
As a Champagne lover, you can always expect to find a chilled bottle at my bar — Champagne Is Always The Answer®! Champagne is certainly my favorite thing to drink, but it’s also an important brand icon for POSH PR®. When I designed The Doll HQ, I knew I wanted the Champagne bar to be a focal point. I love welcoming guests into our space with a touch of glamour and a glass of Champagne.
One of my favorite moments that I’ve shared with The PR Dolls was the first big party we hosted in our new space. It was our POSH PR® Holiday Party last year and it was truly my dream come true. Seeing the office filled with family, friends, and clients was everything I hoped it’d be. But if you know me, you know I am always looking for ways to wow a crowd. That’s when I decided it was time to learn my favorite party trick — sabering open a bottle of Champagne! Let’s just say this has completely stepped up my Champagne game! I also have to shout out to my sweet Costa who gifted me a gorgeous saber to keep at the Champagne bar in The Doll HQ. When I first started out, I was sabering using a knife from our kitchen! My new saber has certainly added a little extra sparkle and sass to my favorite party trick!
Are you ready to learn how to saber your own bottle, Dolls? I promise with these easy steps, you’ll be wowing your friends in no time!
STEP ONE
Make sure your bottle is chilled! I always like to chill my favorite bottle of Veuve Clicquot so I’m always ready to party!
STEP TWO
Remove the wire fastening and all foil off of the neck of the bottle. Take the time to remove the extra foil, Dolls — trust me!
STEP THREE
Find the seam on your bottle. This line will run down the side of the bottle. PS: It’s the weakest point in the glass which is why it’s perfect!
STEP FOUR
Hold the bottle at a 45 degree angle. Make sure you are outside and aim the bottle away from friends and family (or anything else that could get hit!).
STEP FIVE
Hold your knife or saber on the side of the bottle. PRO TIP: Make sure the blunt edge of the blade is facing the neck of the bottle! In a quick and steady swipe, run the blade along the seam while thrusting upwards. The goal is to hit right where the seam of the bottle meets the lip at the top!
STEP SIX
Watch in amazement! Your cork and the top of the bottle should break off and Champagne will come flowing out for all to enjoy! PS: Be careful of the sharp glass edge on your bottle!
