We Ride As One (And Also for FUN!) | CycleBar | The Caroline Doll
“You can be a masterpiece and a work in progress at the same time.” This was one among the many, many positive takeaways from our time at Cycle Bar this past Wednesday.
I haven’t worked out for more than an hour in probably over a year. On top of that, I have never cycled. However, the entire time I was in class at Cycle Bar, I smiled throughout the entire ride. That was definitely a first, for me!
From the get-go, Cycle Bar went above and beyond to make our experience unlike any other. Pink balloons and streamers were EVERYWHERE and the playlist they created for the class? Every doll’s dream! They began the class with a little speech that had me in tears. They were encouraging. They were supportive. They were empowering. But something told me this wasn’t unique to my experience…
“We ride as one,” is Cycle Bar’s mantra and this shines through the entire experience. No matter your age, your physical ability, Cycle Bar comes together as one family.
Donna was our Cycle Star leading the class. She was a total beast and made me want to put my all in. When we spoke with her prior to class, she shared that one of her favorite parts about cycling was the natural “runner’s high.” “People leave feeling happier and less stressed.” It truly is both a physical and emotional outlet. As Libby, the co-owner of Cycle Bar puts it, “We’re in the happy business!”
There classes have three different formats: Performance, which is geared toward achieving certain stats and interval training, Connect, which has no screens, and no numbers but all the fun dance and #expressyourself mood, and then Classic Ride, which is a hybrid of the two. I love that at the end of class, you can have the class playlist and your stats e-mailed straight to you!
At POSH PR, our mission is to empower women. We feel we do that through building brands, giving women the strength and courage to go live their dreams through their business. I had thought that was the only way to live the life of your dreams. After Cycle Bar, in a studio full of women from all sorts of backgrounds, what I realized is that you can be anything, the woman who hands the towels out at the airport, the woman working her 9-5pm, the girl in college still trying to figure out her college major and still empower women. That is the main message and inspiration I got from attending Cycle Bar and I can’t wait to be back in that studio, again!
