Why You Should Be Blogging | Blogging for Business | POSH PR®
Not having a blog for your business, is like having an empty storefront. The Caroline Doll, CEO of POSH PR®, shares a few tips on blogging for your business!
Dolls, in today’s world, your website is your storefront. Yes, most people do judge a book by its cover and yes, your website (as well as your storefront) should be pretty. But would you ever walk into a store that lacked any activity inside? Completely void of life? Well, that’s what you get when you have a website without a blog.
Think about it! Once your website is live, do you frequently go in adding new content to certain pages? Most likely not. Generally, a business’s products and services, its mission statement, and its “about” pages stay the same. You switch to “visible” and hope for the best. Off it goes into the world wide web, static among hundreds of thousands of other websites. But dolls, why wish for the best when you can blog about the best?! YOUR BUSINESS!
1. Blogging is the number one way you can differentiate your business from the rest.
Of course there are other fashion, beauty and lifestyle bloggers out there. I am well aware of the crowds of boutique PR companies. So, what do I have that they don’t? My personality, my experience and my advice. People buy from people they like. Blogging allows your audience to connect with you, personally. It adds life to the products and services you offer!
2. Blogging Is Like Falling In Love, Rather than an Arranged Marriage.
Bare with me here, dolls, I promise this is a good analogy.
Yes, you can pay Google and Facebook for advertising in order to generate new leads. But for many industries, this leads to a money-vacuum. In order to stay at the top, you have to pay for the top. You have to arrange the advertising marriage with a dowry!
Blogging, on the other hand, allows consumers to fall in love with your business at first sight! Producing high-quality, original and insightful content generates discussions, social sharing and links. Blogs are indexed by search engines through your activity and keyword content. Ensuring your content contains keywords unique to your business is how to win Google’s attention. THIS is the kind of activity Google loves, naturally!
3. Blogging converts traffic into subscribers.
A well done blog always ends with a call to action. A call to action is an opportunity to convert traffic into subscribers via free services, tips, or downloads…basically anything someone would be willing to exchange information for in a contact form.
Blogs are to websites as a friendly wave is to a storefront. Invite your audience to come on in!
The more you are able to blog high-quality content, the better. Striving for a blog a week is ideal! But if the thought of adding one more “to-do” is too much to do, contact us here. We’d love to help you!
