Relationships 101: Going Above & Beyond.
The Caroline Doll, CEO of POSH PR®, talks #relationshipgoals when it comes to running a business!
Businesses are relationships.
The minute you approach business with this mentality, as opposed to an impersonal transaction, is the minute clients realize a good thing when they see it, trust you, and decide to date you (professionally speaking)!
Relationships are never 50/50; they are 100/100.
In order to make a relationship work, you have to be willing to invest 100% of your effort — all in! A successful business woman doesn’t wait for the standard to be set; she SETS THE STANDARD. She doesn’t react; she projects. The boss lady behind the fabulous fashion + travel blog @fashioncontainer says in her “About Me”:
“Your attitude should be a projection of what you want, not what you’re dealing with.”
I LOVE this! Basically The Golden Rule, dolls: Treat others as YOU would like to be treated! If you expect the best of the best, you have to deliver the best of the best! Make yourself the measure for interactions between you and your clients. I love how the word “standard” is defined as “the authorized exemplar of a unit of measurement.” You are the standard for your business. YOU are the authorized exemplar for how your business will run! Sometimes this necessitates going ABOVE AND BEYOND.
At the end of the day, I see it as my job to ensure the job gets done. ANY job. Even if something wasn’t my job, contractually speaking, I make it my business to see it through until the job is done. At the end of the day, I know I will feel SO MUCH BETTER knowing that I put my all into something.
Businesses are more than contracts; they’re more than exchanges. Businesses are people. What’s SO important to remember about any business is the person behind it. Relationship principles apply to businesses because businesses are busi-people!
In any relationship, you also have to continually invest in yourself 100%. You can only offer the best of the best if you’ve equipped yourself with the best of the best! This includes healthy “me” time from eating well, sleeping well, and reading well to honesty with yourself: Do you have the time? Do you have the help? Be fair to yourself! Set your business up for success by setting yourself up for success!
